Connect and post to TikTok
Connect a TikTok account, then choose per post whether it publishes on its own or lands in your TikTok inbox to finish, and set the audience TikTok requires.
Open Connect a channel, pick TikTok, and approve PostDaily on TikTok's own screen. Any TikTok account can connect. You land back in PostDaily with the account listed as a channel.
Post automatically, or get a reminder
- 1Post automatically
Publishes the video or photo post to your profile at the scheduled time. Nothing to do on your phone.
- 2Get a reminder
Sends it to your TikTok inbox as a draft instead. Open TikTok, choose the audience and publish within 24 hours. Only the caption carries over, so use this when you want to add a sound from TikTok's library, which apps can't attach.
The settings TikTok asks for
- Audience — required, with no default: pick who can see the post from the choices your account offers (Select an audience). It is checked against your account's current options again when the post publishes.
- Comment, Duet and Stitch — each stays off until you turn it on. Duet and Stitch apply to videos only.
- Your brand and Branded content — mark a post that promotes your own business or a paid partnership. Branded content can't be set to only you, which is TikTok's rule.
- AI-generated — label content made with AI.
- Cover — a frame from the video, or for a photo post, the cover photo. Photo posts also offer Auto-add music.
Videos and photo posts
- A video: MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 4 GB through TikTok's API and within your plan's file-size cap.
- A photo post: several photos, up to your plan's media-per-post limit. The first 90 characters of the caption become its title. PNG photos are converted to JPEG for you.
- Not both: a post is either a video or photos, and TikTok has no text-only posts.
- Captions run to 2,200 characters, with a warning from 2,100.
After it publishes
A post's public link appears once TikTok's moderation releases it, which can take a few hours. Videos report views, likes, comments and shares; photo posts return no metrics. If TikTok refuses a post, its own message is shown on the post, and posting-frequency errors are retried rather than failed.
