Connecting channels

Connect and post to Pinterest

Connect Pinterest, then schedule image, carousel and video Pins to a board or section, with a title, destination link and alt text on each.

Updated · 3 min read

Open Connect a channel, pick Pinterest, and approve PostDaily on Pinterest's own screen. A business account is best: publishing works with any account, but Pin analytics need a business account. Once connected, your boards, including secret ones, are listed in the composer.

Every Pin needs a board

  1. 1
    Board

Required. Pick it from your account's own boards.

  2. 2
    Section

Optional. Board root posts to the board itself; or choose one of its sections.

  3. 3
Title, Destination link and Alt text

Title up to 100 characters, a link where the Pin leads, and alt text up to 500 characters. The post text becomes the description, up to 800 characters.

What a Pin can be

  • An image Pin: one image. 1000×1500 pixels, a 2:3 ratio, is the size Pinterest recommends.
  • A carousel: 2 to 5 images.
  • A video Pin: one video plus one image, which becomes the Pin's cover. Pinterest asks for a cover with every video Pin, so a video on its own can't be published.
  • No text-only Pins. Pinterest needs an image or a video.

Many Pins at once

Bulk upload takes a CSV of Pins for one board at a time: choose the board once for the whole file, and give every row an image URL. See Bulk schedule social posts from a CSV, and check the file first with the free CSV checker.

Pin analytics

Open a published Pin and PostDaily reads its impressions and saves over the last 30 days straight from Pinterest. They aren't stored, because Pinterest's developer terms only let apps keep campaign analytics, so there is no long-term history to chart.
