Upload to YouTube
Schedule a YouTube upload: the one required field that decides whether the post saves at all, then title, tags, visibility and the Shorts switch.
The one field that blocks a post, then title, tags and visibility.
YouTube takes one video per post. Attach it first: the whole panel fills in around the file, and the composer picks Short or Video for you based on the shape of what you attached.
Audience is not optional
Audience is the one field that will stop a post from saving. YouTube requires every upload to declare whether it is made for children, and there is no default — leave it on Choose… and the composer holds the post back.

Title and format

- 1Video title
Up to 100 characters, and separate from your post text — leave it empty and the first line of the post becomes the title.
- 2Video or Short
Picked for you from the video's shape, and changeable. Short adds #Shorts so YouTube files it correctly.
Description, tags and category

- Description — 5,000 bytes, which is 5,000 characters of plain English text but fewer with emoji or non-Latin scripts. Left empty, it uses your post text, minus the first line if that line became the title.
- Tags — comma-separated, 500 characters for all of them together, not each.
- Category — defaults to People & Blogs. It affects where YouTube recommends the video.
Visibility and the rest

- 3Visibility
Public, Unlisted or Private. Unlisted means anyone with the link can watch, but it appears nowhere on your channel.
- 4Notify subscribers
On by default. Turn it off for a re-upload or something minor, so you don't notify everyone twice.
- 5Allow embedding and Show view count
Whether other sites can play the video, and whether the watch page shows its view and rating counts.
If something looks wrong afterwards
- A day's uploads stop going out — video uploads draw on a separate daily quota from everything else, and it is counted per app rather than per channel.
- The title isn't what you wrote — an empty Video title takes the first line of the post instead. Fill the field in to control it.
