Connect PostDaily to Cursor

Add PostDaily to Cursor in one click or with mcp.json, sign in from Cursor's MCPs settings, and have Cursor's agent draft and schedule your release posts.

Updated · 3 min read

Cursor connects with PostDaily's server URL and signs in through PostDaily, so you never paste a key into your editor. It's a natural fit for announcing what you ship: Cursor's agent can read the change you just made and turn it into a post for each network.

Add the server

  1. 1
In PostDaily, open Settings → AI agents and choose Cursor

Select Add to Cursor. Cursor opens and asks you to install the postdaily server.

  2. 2
Or add it to your config yourself

    Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json: {"mcpServers": {"postdaily": {"url": "https://mcp.postdaily.app/mcp"}}}

  3. 3
Open Cursor Settings → Customize → MCPs

Select Authenticate next to postdaily. In older versions of Cursor the page is called Tools & MCPs.

  4. 4
    Approve access in PostDaily

PostDaily opens in your browser. Choose Full access, Drafts only or Read only, tick the workspaces and select Allow access.

Use it

Ask Cursor's agent in chat. For example: "Write a short post about the feature in this branch for Bluesky and X and schedule it for tomorrow at 9am." Cursor can upload a file from your project or computer directly, such as a screenshot or a demo video, so you only have to name the file.

Using an API key instead

Cursor ignores request headers on the main server URL once it sees that it can sign in. To use an API key, point Cursor at https://mcp.postdaily.app/key/mcp instead and add an Authorization header with Bearer followed by your key. See Connect n8n, Make or a script with an API key for creating one.

Sign out

In Cursor, open postdaily under Customize → MCPs, select Configure, then Logout. To revoke its access completely, select Disconnect next to Cursor in Settings → AI agents in PostDaily.
