How to schedule Facebook posts: Pages, Reels, Stories and Groups

Schedule a Facebook Page post up to 29 days ahead, find it again, and know what can't be scheduled at all, with Meta's own steps for each.

You can schedule Facebook posts on a Page, up to 29 days ahead, for free, from Meta Business Suite. Group admins and moderators can schedule posts inside a Group too. What nobody can schedule is a post to a personal profile from an outside tool: Facebook's publishing API only works with Pages. The steps below are Meta's own, checked against its help centre on 27 September 2026.

Schedule a Page post on a computer

• Switch to the Page you want to post as, then click Meta Business Suite in the left menu.
• Click Create post below the Page's profile picture and add your text, photos or video.
• Next to Scheduling options, turn on Set date and time and choose when it should go out. Active times suggests times from when your followers were most active over the past week.
• Click Schedule.

Meta allows a scheduled time between 20 minutes and 29 days away, and the time is read in your own current time zone. Anyone with Facebook access or task access to the Page can create and edit scheduled posts.

Starting in Business Suite itself works the same way: Create post, pick the Page under Post to, write the post, set the time under Scheduling options, then Schedule. That route lets you post to the Page and its linked Instagram account at once, with different text for each.

Schedule from your phone

The Meta Business Suite app schedules posts, Reels and Stories too. Tap the + button, choose what you are making, and choose to schedule it instead of publishing now. Meta's own instructions for scheduling a Page post all go through Business Suite, on the web or in its app, so that is the place to look if you can't find the option elsewhere.

Personal profiles, including professional mode

Meta's help centre documents scheduling for Pages and for Groups. It says nothing about scheduling on a profile, and its page on professional mode for profiles doesn't list scheduling among the tools it adds. Outside tools are simpler still: Facebook's API publishes to Pages only, so no third-party scheduler can post to a profile, whatever its pricing page implies. If you post as yourself and want to schedule, a Page is the way.

Reels and Stories

Both can be scheduled on a Page. A Reel is one video; a Story is one photo or video that disappears after 24 hours, and a Story scheduled by an app carries no stickers, links or music. The step-by-step guides are How to schedule Facebook Reels and How to schedule Facebook Stories.

Groups

Admins and moderators can schedule a Group post from the Group itself: start typing a post, click the calendar icon next to Post, pick the time and click Schedule. The icon only appears once you have started typing, and only for admins and moderators. Admins can also set up recurring posts through Admin Assist.

Find, edit or cancel a scheduled post

• On a Page: in Meta Business Suite, open Content, then the Scheduled tab under Posts and reels (Stories have their own tab). The Planner shows the same posts on a week or month calendar.
• Change it: open the post's ... menu to edit, reschedule, duplicate, move it to drafts or delete it. Moving it to drafts cancels the time without losing the post.
• In a Group: open the Group, choose Scheduled posts under Admin tools (you may need to click Manage first), then reschedule, post now, edit or delete.

When the native scheduler isn't enough

Business Suite is free and fine if Facebook and Instagram are all you post to, a month at a time. The limits show up at the edges: 29 days is the furthest ahead it goes, each post is placed by hand, and a scheduled post that fails tells you little about why.

A scheduler earns its place when you post to other networks from the same plan, want a queue that fills your usual posting times, want a first comment published straight after the post, or need a client to approve posts without a Facebook login.
