POSTDAILY VS SPROUT SOCIAL

Looking for a Sprout Social alternative?

Sprout Social is one of the most complete social suites there is: publishing, a shared inbox, listening, reviews and reporting a marketing department can run on. It is priced like one. Every seat is billed, the two cheaper plans stop at five profiles, and the plan that lifts that cap is $299 per seat a month on annual billing. If the job is getting posts out on schedule, most of that is capability you will not open.

Who should use which

Stay with Sprout Social if your team works its inbox every day, needs social listening, reports to leadership from Sprout's analytics, or runs social through Salesforce, HubSpot or Zendesk. None of that exists in PostDaily, and it is what Sprout's price pays for. PostDaily fits a creator, a freelancer or a small team whose job is publishing: planned posts, a schedule per channel and a client sign-off, without a bill that grows with every person you add.

Where Sprout Social is the better choice

Leading with this because it decides the question for a lot of people, and you should not have to dig for it.

It is a full social suite, not a scheduler

Sprout's Smart Inbox pulls messages from every profile into one queue with sentiment tagging, and around it sit review management, social listening, employee advocacy and two-way integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zendesk and Dynamics 365. PostDaily has none of these. If your team answers customers from its social tool, Sprout is in a different category and this page is not your comparison.

It publishes to networks we don't

Sprout publishes to LinkedIn and Google Business Profile, which PostDaily does not yet. For a B2B team, LinkedIn alone usually settles the question.

A longer trial, with no card

Sprout gives 30 days free without asking for a card. PostDaily's paid trial is 7 days and only on annual plans; our free plan is permanent, but it is one channel, so it is a smaller test of the product than Sprout's month.

Bigger bulk imports

Sprout's bulk scheduler takes up to 350 posts per CSV on its Professional and Advanced plans. PostDaily's takes 100 rows per file, 25 of them with images, so a large backlog goes in over several uploads.

Where PostDaily is the better fit

Seats come with the plan

Sprout bills every person you invite. Three people on Professional, the first plan without a profile cap, is 3 × $299 = $897 a month on annual billing, or $1,197 billed monthly. PostDaily's Pro plan includes 10 channels and 3 seats at one plan price, and Agency includes 100 channels and 10 seats.

No five-profile ceiling on the cheaper plans

Sprout's Essentials and Standard plans connect five profiles; the sixth means moving to Professional. PostDaily's allowance steps from 3 channels on Starter to 10 on Pro and 100 on Agency, so growing from five accounts to seven does not move you to a different price bracket.

No-login client approval without the top plan

Sprout's external approvers can review without logging in, but that feature is on the Advanced plan only, at $399 per seat a month annually, and allows up to three approvers. PostDaily's review link comes with Pro: anyone you send it to can approve or leave feedback in the browser, with no account and no seat.

Mastodon, on the server's own limit

Sprout does not publish to Mastodon. PostDaily does, to any server, and reads each server's own character limit from its API rather than assuming 500.

Built around a queue that recovers

Each channel has its own weekly posting grid and the queue fills from it. When a network errors, PostDaily retries what is worth retrying, shows the network's own message for what is not, and holds a disconnected channel's posts until you reconnect instead of failing them one by one.

Common questions

Is PostDaily cheaper than Sprout Social?
For publishing, by a wide margin. Sprout's cheapest plan is $79 per seat a month billed annually, or $99 monthly, for five profiles, and ten profiles need Professional at $299 per seat. PostDaily plans include seats and a channel allowance, and there is a free plan. If you use Sprout's inbox, listening or reporting, the comparison is not like for like.
Does Sprout Social have a free plan?
No. It offers a 30-day free trial with no credit card, after which you choose a paid plan.
What does Sprout Social do that PostDaily does not?
A shared inbox with sentiment, social listening, review management, employee advocacy, CRM and helpdesk integrations, and publishing to LinkedIn and Google Business Profile.
Can I move my scheduled posts across?
Put your planned posts into PostDaily's CSV columns (text, image URL, tags, date and time) and upload up to 100 rows at a time; the free bulk CSV checker shows any row the import would reject before you upload. Each channel is reconnected through that network's own sign-in.
