Metricool is an analytics tool that also schedules, and at its price the analytics are remarkable: competitor tracking, ads reporting and unlimited history on the entry plan. It is also cheap for one person running several brands. The limits people hit are elsewhere: the Starter plan has no team members, X is a paid add-on per account, and there is no Mastodon.
Who should use which
Stay with Metricool if analytics is the reason you open it: competitor tracking, ads reporting, long history, Looker Studio. Stay too if you work alone across many small brands, where Starter's price is hard to match, or if you need LinkedIn or Google Business Profile. PostDaily fits a small team that needs more than one login without jumping to Advanced, anyone posting to X across several accounts, and anyone on Mastodon.

Metricool's Starter plan analyses up to 100 competitors and keeps unlimited analytics history. It connects Facebook, Google and TikTok ads, and Advanced adds a Looker Studio connector and an API. Very cheap for one person with several brands
Starter is $25 a month, or $20 billed annually, for five brands, each with one profile on every network it supports. For a solo freelancer managing a handful of small clients, that is a lot of accounts for the money.
A free plan with more room than ours
Metricool's free plan never expires and allows one brand with up to 20 posts a month, though not on LinkedIn or X. PostDaily's free plan is one channel and five scheduled posts a month.
It publishes to networks we don't
Metricool publishes to LinkedIn and Google Business Profile, which PostDaily does not yet, and schedules first comments on LinkedIn and TikTok as well.

Mastodon
Mastodon is not among the networks Metricool publishes to. PostDaily posts to any Mastodon server and holds each post to that server's own character limit.
Built around publishing that recovers
Each channel has its own weekly posting grid and the queue fills from it. When a network errors, PostDaily retries what is worth retrying, shows the network's own message for what is not, and holds a disconnected channel's posts until you reconnect instead of failing them.
