POSTDAILY VS LATER

Looking for a Later alternative?

Later grew up as an Instagram planner, and it still shows in the best way: a visual grid you arrange by dragging, a link-in-bio page, and tools for collecting other people's posts to reshare. If your work is mostly Instagram and TikTok, it is hard to beat. People look elsewhere when their channel list stops matching Later's, when they run two accounts on the same network, or when they want a first comment anywhere but Instagram.

Who should use which

Stay with Later if your work is visual-first: planning a grid, running a link-in-bio page, reposting creators' content, or benchmarking against competitors. Stay too if you need LinkedIn or Snapchat, or want a free plan that spans several networks. PostDaily fits when you post somewhere Later does not publish, when you run more than one account on the same network, or when you want first comments on more than one network and a client review link that lasts as long as the engagement.

Where Later is the better choice

Leading with this because it decides the question for a lot of people, and you should not have to dig for it.

Visual planning for Instagram is its home ground

Later's Visual Planner lets you drag media onto a calendar and see how the grid will look before anything posts, on every plan. It adds Link in Bio, a small page behind your Instagram or TikTok profile link, and a way to find and repost posts from hashtags. PostDaily has none of these. If the look of your grid is the job, Later was built for it.

Its free plan is more generous than ours

Later's free plan includes one social set, one profile per supported network, with 12 posts per profile a month. PostDaily's free plan is one channel and five scheduled posts a month.

It publishes to networks we don't

Later publishes to LinkedIn and Snapchat, which PostDaily does not yet.

Competitor benchmarking and influencer tools

Later's Scale plan tracks performance for up to 20 competitors, and Later runs a separate influencer marketing platform. PostDaily reports on your own posts only.

Where PostDaily is the better fit

Bluesky and Mastodon

Later's help centre lists Bluesky and Mastodon as unsupported. PostDaily publishes to both, counting Bluesky posts by grapheme the way Bluesky does and holding each Mastodon server to its own character limit.

X, counted the way X counts

X is not among the networks Later publishes to. PostDaily publishes posts, threads and polls to X on every paid plan, weighing links and wide characters the way X does so a post that fits in the composer fits on X.

Any mix of accounts, not one per network

Later sells profiles in social sets, one profile from each network per set. A second Instagram account means a second set, and extra sets are only sold on Growth and Scale, at $15 a month each. PostDaily counts channels, so two Instagram accounts and a Facebook Page are simply three of your allowance.

First comments beyond Instagram

Later's first comment works on Instagram only; its help centre rules it out on every other network Later supports. PostDaily schedules first comments on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, and on networks that work in threads, follow-up replies go out as a thread.

Review links that outlast a week

Later's no-login review links start on Growth and expire seven days after they are created. PostDaily's review link comes with Pro, and you choose how long it lasts: 7, 30 or 90 days, or a year. A client can come back to next month's posts on the same link, and you can revoke it sooner.

No per-profile post cap on paid plans

Later's Starter plan allows 30 posts per profile a month and Growth 180. PostDaily's paid plans schedule as many posts as you like, with a monthly budget on X only.

Common questions

Does Later support Bluesky or Mastodon?
No. Later's help centre lists both as unsupported, checked on 27 September 2026. PostDaily publishes to both.
Is PostDaily cheaper than Later?
It depends on how your accounts are spread. Later's Starter plan is $25 a month, or $18.75 billed annually, for one social set: one profile on each of its networks and one user. If you have several accounts on the same network, Later needs extra sets on Growth, at $50 a month plus $15 per extra set. PostDaily counts channels in any mix; compare plans on our pricing page.
What does Later do that PostDaily does not?
A visual Instagram grid planner, Link in Bio, reposting content found by hashtag, competitor benchmarking on its Scale plan, influencer marketing, and publishing to LinkedIn and Snapchat.
Does Later have a free trial?
Yes, 14 days, and Later's help centre says you enter payment details to start it. Later also has a free plan. PostDaily's free plan needs no card; its paid trial is 7 days on annual plans.
