Looking for a Buffer alternative?
Buffer is a good product and, at a small number of channels, a cheap one. The reason people go looking is almost always the same: the bill is priced per channel, so it grows every time you connect another account, and a second person means the Team plan at twice the rate. Whether that matters depends entirely on how many channels you run, so this page starts with the sizes where you should simply stay put.
Who should use which
Stay with Buffer if you run one to three channels, if you want the more generous free plan, or if you need a network PostDaily has not shipped yet. At that size its pricing is genuinely good and switching would cost you more than it saves. PostDaily makes sense once the channel count climbs, once a second person or a client needs to be involved, or once reliable publishing and per-channel scheduling matter more than breadth.
Where Buffer is the better choice
Leading with this because it decides the question for a lot of people, and you should not have to dig for it.
Their free plan is more generous than ours
Buffer's free plan connects up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts each and one user. PostDaily's free plan is one channel and five scheduled posts a month. If a free plan is what you need, Buffer's is plainly the better one.
At one to three channels, Buffer is cheap
Essentials is $6 per channel a month, or $5 on yearly billing, so three channels cost $18 a month. For a solo creator running two or three accounts that is a genuinely low price, and the per-channel model works in your favour at that size. Past ten channels the rate drops too, to $4 a channel for the 11th to 25th.
It connects more networks
Buffer publishes to Google Business Profile and Substack, which PostDaily does not yet. If you depend on a network we have not shipped, that decides it.
It has been doing this since 2010
Buffer has the polish and the reputation that come with fifteen years of practice. PostDaily is new. That is a real difference and it is fair to weigh it.
Where PostDaily is the better fit
The bill does not grow with every channel
Buffer bills each channel: ten on Essentials is $60 a month, and 25 is $120 even after its volume rates. PostDaily plans include a channel allowance instead. Pro covers 10 channels and 3 seats, and Agency covers 100 channels and 10 seats, each at one plan price. Somewhere between three and ten channels the two models cross over.
A second person does not double the rate
Buffer's Essentials plan has one user. Anyone else means Team, at $12 per channel a month for the first ten, twice the Essentials rate. On PostDaily seats come with the plan, so bringing in a second person does not change what a channel costs you.
Client approval without a Buffer login
Approving drafts is a Team-plan feature on Buffer, and each reviewer has their own Buffer login. PostDaily's review link comes with Pro: a client approves or leaves feedback in the browser, with no account and no invitation. For a freelancer or a small agency that is usually the difference between approvals happening and approvals being an email thread.
Built around a queue that recovers
Scheduled posts run through a durable engine: transient errors retry, real failures are recorded with the network's own error message rather than a generic one, and a broken channel connection parks the posts queued behind it instead of failing them one at a time. Reconnect and the queue is still there.
A posting schedule per channel
Each channel gets its own weekly time grid, so your Bluesky rhythm does not have to match your Facebook one, and the queue fills from that grid rather than needing a time picked by hand.

Common questions
- Is PostDaily cheaper than Buffer?
- It depends on how many channels you run. Buffer's Essentials plan is $6 per channel a month ($5 yearly), so at one to three channels it is cheap and often cheaper than a PostDaily plan. Ten channels cost $60 a month, or $120 on Team if more than one person needs access. PostDaily includes a channel allowance rather than multiplying, so the comparison flips as the count grows.
- Does Buffer have a free plan?
- Yes, and it is more generous than ours: 3 channels, 10 scheduled posts per channel and one user. PostDaily's free plan is one channel and five scheduled posts a month.
- What does Buffer do that PostDaily does not?
- It publishes to Google Business Profile and Substack, which PostDaily does not yet, and has more than a decade of polish behind it. If a network you depend on is not among the ones PostDaily has shipped, Buffer is the right choice.
- Can I move my scheduled posts across?
- You can bulk-import scheduled content from a CSV, including image URLs, which is usually the fastest way to move a planned month. Connections have to be re-authorised network by network, which is an OAuth constraint, not a PostDaily one.
